2022 Cortada Alta Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
2022 Cortada Alta Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Aromas of currants, tobacco, vanilla, and toasted spice enliven the bouquet of this wonderfully complex Pinot Noir. On the palate, wild-berry jam, seared mushrooms, and soft notes of pepper are highlighted by firm tannins and a subtle herbaceousness. The wine’s rich body is accented by luscious acidity and a long velvety finish.

93 Points - WINE ENTHUSIAST
The black cherry core on the nose of this bottling is cut by baking spice and a persistent, pleasant gamy aroma. The palate is rich in texture and layered in flavors of pepper, meat and dark berry that linger into the finish.
92 Points - Vinous
The 2022 Pinot Noir Cortada Alta Vineyard is packed with rich, deeply spiced fruit. It aged for ten months in 27% new French oak, which is expertly integrated at this juncture. Endowed with roundness and plushness aplenty, there’s an adequate structure in the form of super-fine tannins and ultra-juicy sour cherry acidity. Pomegranate, hibiscus and stony minerality coast all the way to the finish line. I’m a fan of this calibrated, precise approach.

The Wine Independent
Medium ruby purple in color, the 2022 Cortada Alta Vineyard Pinot Noir bursts with bold notions of pomegranate, baked raspberries, and kirsch followed by hints of charcoal, wild sage, and underbrush. The medium to full-bodied palate is taut with ripe, expressive berry flavors and herbal accents, supported by grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with great length.
